A cantora Adele foi a grande vencedora do Grammy 2017 superando Beyoncé, saindo com cinco gramofones dourados, melhor gravação, canção e performance pop para a música Hello, e melhor álbum do ano e melhor álbum pop para 25. O Lemonade de Beyoncé deu à cantora dois gramofones, o de melhor álbum urbano contemporâneo e melhor clipe com Formation.
Ao receber o gramofone dourado de melhor álbum, Adele homenageou Beyoncé. “Você é um modelo para mim, o seu álbum Lemonade é monumental. É tão bem pensado, tão lindo. Conhecemos um novo lado seu. Todos os artistas aqui te adoram. Você é a nossa luz. A maneira como você faz com que eu e meus amigos nos sintamos, e a maneira como você faz meus amigos negros se sentirem é empoderadora. Eu te amo, eu sempre amei”, declarou a britânica, deixando a colega emocionada na plateia.
Adele se apresentou duas vezes durante a cerimônia. A primeira na abertura, quando entoou o hit Hello, e depois em uma homenagem ao cantor George Michael, morto em dezembro de 2016. Durante o tributo a cantora chegou a interromper a apresentação e pediu para recomeça-la, pois não estava fazendo jus ao colega que morreu em dezembro de 2016.
Esta é a segunda vez que Adele conquista as três principais estatuetas da premiação: melhor disco, gravação e canção. A britânica conseguiu o feito pela primeira vez com 21, em 2012.
